The day there is no longer fighting in hockey is the day I start watching table tennis and bowling.

I don't want all fighting removed from the game, just the stupidity.
Why is it when a travesty of justice is applied to a 1st line player by an opposing 1st line player, two 4th line players come out and fight each other? Why not have the 4th line player come out and beat on the 1st line player who committed the foul. That's just stupid.

When two legitimate NHL hockey players get their anger up from competition and duke it out, that should remain in hockey. Remember those Wendel Clark, Rick Tocchet and yes, Brendan Shannahan fights from the 80s & 90s? But get rid of fights between gladiators; goons who are on the roster for no reason but to fight. Guys who get 2 minutes of ice time and 16 minutes in penalites per game? That's a circus side-show and has no place in the game.
