Well, it ain't the Senators.
I'm hoping the Jets do well, it's just nice to see them back in the NHL.
I am hoping a Canadian team wins this year; with the drop of the dollar back to the 70-75 cent range, the salary issues will crop up again, and if we don't win this year, it may be a while again.
GO HABS GO !

Whoever makes it to the Finals or is the last Canadian team standing. At least for me. I just hope it's the Canucks.

The realist in me says the Habs, simply because they still have their starting goalie and a decent team in front of him, but the Albertan in me says anyone but the Habs! Hopefully all or most of them will make it out of the first round and give us some hope.

No such thing as "Canada's Team".
Fans from each team don't care to cheer for another team once there's is eliminated and considering US-based teams are filled with Canadian kids, it's just as easy to take the Canada card and cheer for a US team.

GO HABS GO ! Why not the Sens? The Hamburglar angle of their story could be a freight train ready to leave the station. I want to see that young goalie do well and see cheeseburgers raining down on the ice like the rats were in Florida. And I kind of like the run the Wild are on with Dubnyk in goal, 24 / 6 and 5 SO. since he got there. I guess Im not cheering for any one team, more like a couple of good Canadian boys. I don't think there's anyone wanting to play the Wild, first round right now.

There will never be "Canada's team" when it comes to the NHL because there is enough Canadian teams that each region (with exception of the Maritimes and the North) has a team they can support and another Canadian team that is seen as rivals. If the Flames made the finals I could not see the Oilers' fans rooting for them. The Raptors might be Canada's team when it comes to NBA and the Jays might be Canada's team when it comes to MLB, but that's because there are no other Canadian teams.

If we use the same method used for choosing America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys, the Toronto Maple Leafs are Canada's team.
Extremely valuable franchise, storied history that hasn't been matched in decades, only loved by bandwagoners and their home market, and no hope of success in the near future.

We have this stupid discussion every year... except for last year. Of course, for me it's the Habs, then it's the last Canadian team standing... as long as it's not the Leafs.

Don't think you have to worry about that this year.. Or any year. It's March, which in Toronto means it's "I'm never watching the Leafs again" season. Ask again in September when it's "Leafs look like they might go all the way!!!" season.

Flames obviously and I'd be quite happy if Montreal won it. Winnipeg and Ottawa would be OK to me but there wouldn't be much enthusiasm over it. Vancouver, Edmonton, or Toronto though? Nah. I'd be going for their opponent to win. Their fans are intolerable. In Toronto's case it's their fans and all of the Canadian sports media that are insufferable. Not competitive for the last 23 years and no Cup win for almost 50, but the CBC still makes Don Cherry talk about them for the first two minutes (out of five) on Coach's Corner. Fakk them.

Can't cheer for Calgary Vancouver or Toronto, cause their fans are intolerable Ottawa, Habs, and Winnipeg are all good by me as long as they're still in it.
