You have to wonder when they are going to be holding their first Crystal Night. Brought to you by the enemies of democracy.

Glenn Greenwald Reminds Fellow Journalists That the Obama Admin Was the One to Declare War on Them
$1:
Believe it or not the war between the White House and the Fourth Estate did not begin with the Trump administration, at least according to journalist Glenn Greenwald. The current editor-in-chief for The Intercept who gained recognition for his series on Edward Snowden's NSA files in The Guardian, says the bitterness the media feels toward 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue began during President Obama's tenure.

“If you look at the last eight years, there has been a very concerted war on not just sources and whistleblowers, but also journalists, implemented by not Donald Trump but by the Obama administration,” Greenwald said during an appearance on CNN’s "Reliable Sources" on Sunday.

Elections have consequences.

One of the consequences of this election is that the partisan-left media are no longer entitled to preference at the White House.

Yeah sure. Funny how no righties can remember Bush and Cheney' years at all. That's when the war in the media began. You can hardly compare Obama to either.

. Boy do they ever!

One of the consequences of this election is that the dictator will not tolerate anything but total control of information and complete submission to his will.

No, one of the consequences is that the President is experimenting with suspending the First Constitutionsl Ammendment as a prelude to suspending your Bill of Rights.

This press-avoidance has been going on for a long time. Nixon was the last GOP president who didn't shirk from press conferences. Reagan pulled that trick with the press of not be able to hear their questions because of the noise from his helicopter. This press-avoidance has been going on for a long time. To be fair, after Watergate too much of the press went into full attack-dog mode just itching to be the first reporter to have the next "gotcha!" moment and turned minor fuck ups into potential devastation. Over the years too many minor fuck-ups and personal failings got turned into "the next Watergate". As bad as some of the presidents have been in the last forty-odd years there's no disputing that the press has been equally responsible in poisoning the overall relationship.

Trump's downfall won't come from a press conference anyway. It'll be from some hero inside the White House finally having enough and doing a major leak that fully shows all the graft, corruption, and probable treason from Trump/Bannon/Miller that's most likely been going on since January 21, 2017.

I would not be surprised to see more media outlets being added to the list especially any that criticize this decision.

If they had any guts and weren't obsessed with ratings/money the rest of the "respectable" outfits would boycott any WH press conference until the ones that have been banned are re-admitted back in. Let them have the spectacle of only the ass-kissers from FOX and the neo-Nazis from Breitbart being in attendance as Trump and Spicer lie their faces off, and see how the country responds.

In December, Spicer said barring media access is what a ‘dictatorship’ does. Today, he barred media access.

By Philip Bump

White House press secretary Sean Spicer barred reporters from several large media outlets from participating in a scheduled press briefing Friday. Two months ago, in a panel discussion, he insisted that open access for the media is “what makes a democracy a democracy versus a dictatorship.”....

Spicey needs to clean up his act and speak in proper sentences. He is awfully ragged at the moment. The Master can get away with that but a little more coherence and less fumbling from the messenger is required.

Being a demagogue never looked so good. The newspapers are barely alive, the major TV networks are struggling but you can call these guys the elites and get away with it. Our system of government may be doomed.
