What is the point of people making virus's? I just don't get it, people who devote there lives on there PC's making virus's and spreading them. What a waste of existance. IMO there needs to be a tougher crackdown on hackers, like send them to the middle east and claim they screwed some muslim mens wives and state we will allow them to be punished by muslim law. That kinda punishment, or send them to North Ireland and dress them up as British soldiers.

It's just another form of break and enter, with a side of vandalism.

'Adobe Flash Update' is exactly where I started having problems with my PC last month. And it only gets worse! I'm now hoping that the info on both of my hard-drives can be retreived. The problems start immediately. I knew before reading these articles, -Thanks Wada- and told everyone " Something is wrong with Adobe updates. STAY AWAY FROM THEM" !

Why Apple is just leaping up and down to add Flash... Why I never use IE... Why I'll fire your ass if I catch you MSNing, Facebooking or using filesharing sites in my office.. Why XP is relegated to a 'curiosity' in my office and you won't ever log on as me. Why my cafe has Win7 on 2 workstations and you will pay the full hourly rate, whereas you might use one of the Linux boxes all day for only $3 if it ain't busy.
Yogi: Acronis, a Bart disk and an external drive. Setup fresh with all your programs and use Acronis to back it up. If it get whacked, boot with the Bart disk and use Salamader to save all your data to external. Then delete the partition, reboot with your Acronis CD and restore your computer. Scan the backup data, and copy it back. Update, and you're done. Way faster than spending days fucking with these latest viruses.. I'm convinced the creators of them are using them as programmer resumes!

Yes, it's a crime and they should be punished, but that's far too harsh. What a dumb fucking thing to say! I hate viruses (just dealt with a doozy in April too), but I wouldn't wish to kill someone for something so silly.

Will it restore my computer so that I can retrieve my info, or have I lost all on my hd"? Also, what new computer/ os would you reccomend to replace my existing pc if I choose to go that way? I don't do any gaming. I listen to a lot of music. I have a 'surround sound system' set up to run off my puter. Of course I don't expect to put anything together for $99.00, but I don't want to spend a fortune for something I don't need, or won't ever use. If my pc can be 'saved', then I had thought about getting an external hd and then downloading and saving everything to that on a daily basis. I really do appreciate your expertise in these matters! ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)

Why would I wish virus makers death sentences? As well if I was serious, why would I give them sentences like bringing them to a muslim country. Telling them he fucked there wives and allow them to deal with him under muslim law or bring them to Northern Ireland and dress them up like British Soldiers. Does that sound like a serious sentence? How about locking them up long enough so that by the time they get out they will never catch up to technology?

Well if came into your house and made a pitch to sell you fake software for 20$ every 5 minutes whenever you watch TV, that wouldn't worth much of a penalty at all.
However if I managed to do that to 100,000 people a week...

Yogi Yogi: Herbie, because my computer knowledge is quite limited, I have to ask "what is a 'bart disc', where do I get one? Will it restore my computer so that I can retrieve my info, or have I lost all on my hd"? http://www.nu2.nu/bootdisk/You'll need more than just this to retrieve your data safely. But it will take some skull sweat, and experience. If you aren't that good with computers, you may want to avoid this then. There is a way to retrieve your stuff without taking it to a computer shop who will charge you $300 to re-install your computer and you still may lose your data. But if you aren't savvy, it might not be worth the headache.
