Dealerships are an anachronism of the horse and buggy days and it's about a century late for these middlemen to be dumped on the ash heap of history.

FFS it's 2016. I should be able to buy a car at home and have it delivered to my door just like practically everything else.

You haven't been paying attention then. Genesis sedan is a very nice car. And has been for almost a decade.

Hyundai and Kia seem to have moved way up on the reliability scale, and provide more content for same or lower price. So if your definition of luxury is snob appeal, they may not have it, but if it's a well built vehicle with lots of doo dahs, they have.

Yeah but this is not just the same old automobile Hyundai Genesis, which may be sure nice car but under a discount brand

This is now attempting to be a prestige spinoff brand, similar to Toyota's Lexus, Honda's Acura, Nissan's Infinity, or VW's Audi. I'm not knocking the car itself, it's just that Hyundai is so synonymous with low cost, I'm curious how well an affiliated luxury brand will do.

I would assume the same way that all those did, considering they're all considered low cost brands too. And having driven both Coupe and Sedan Genesis, Coupe and Sedan G35, the Genesis should more than hold it's own. Provided people can get by their pre-existing notions of products.

Perhaps better to say they were all low cost brands, because no one would call
Toyota or Honda low cost these days.

So Hyundai will try the same progression from low cost to high end builder,
time will tell if people get over the "cheap Korean stuff", like they did with Japanese.

My Skoda's engine has a rather large VW stamp in the bottom of it. :)

Actually, Hyundai WAS synonymous with low cost 30 years ago - over the past decade, consumers have come to see Hyundai as well-made practical vehicles, which they are.

Hyundai's 'luxury' cars are a joke. I checked out the brand new Equus at this year's car show back in February. $68,560 for something that's still a quickly built Korean car. I could get a BMW or Audi for much less than that, and have German quality and luxury.

I'm sorry, but when the word 'luxury' comes to mind in the name of cars, I think Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, and Lincoln. Would also go for an Acura as well.

Hyundai can keep their garbage.

Coming from someone who's apparently never owned any of the above. Mercedes electrical is unadultered garbage and has been for years. BMW hasn't changed a fucking thing in their normal cars in a decade and it's showing. And comparing my uncles old lincoln to the many genesis sedans I've driven, I'd take the genesis.

Jag is about the only thing I haven't driven there
