It is unregulatable. If they try to maintain the Cable companies monopoly for them, as Brah says, people will just download what they want or use a proxy that makes it look like they are in the US, and screw regulation.

Interesting is I already host a number of Canadian subscribers for DISH Network from my PO Box. The bills come to a US address but the equipment resides in Canada and the CRTC can't do diddly f*ck about it.

Controlling the public's media intake is a thing of the past. There is just no possible way to regulate my ownership or ability to obtain a sting of 1's and 0's. That cat is out of the bag.

I don't want to sit through 40% crappy content just because it is Canadian. I am already more inclined to watch Canadian content because I can relate to it.

I'll jump on the bandwagon telling CRTC to go fuck themselves. I ditched cable back in 2006 for many reasons, too much "canadian" content was one of them.

Want to get people watching more Canadian programs? Make them worth watching. Simple.

Fuck the CRTC it was only created so Canadian crap could get on the air. How many channels of French BS does a country need? How many make work programs to keep the FN on the air can we stomach? The CBC would be gone if we got rid of the CRTC
I haven't subscribed to television since 2011 and all I watch is Hulu and US Netflix.
