I doubt they'd disable them, that would be a dick move, and possibly malicious. They likely would just stop updating them. Unlike something like Microsoft Zune or Yahoo Music where all the music people paid for just disappeared.

Google has done the former, where the interface to turn your stuff on will stop working. And then so will your stuff.

That IoT course I'm enrolled in is going to be pretty interesting!
