Eisensapper, I think they are quite use to being without luxuries.
Some of them have nights where they got to sleep in a ditch with dog shit in it. Etc.
I don't think it will be long before the U.S. Military ships them portables to shit in. But for sleeping, nobody in Afghanistan will get a luxurious sleep unless they confiscated a sears store if one exists in Afghanistan.
You obviously dont know how good they get it in KAF.
By luxuries I mean that when in KAF a CF soldier can get a furnished room that he shares with just one other person, A/C, wireless internet, electricity and you’re in hard shacks. By that I mean you’re in a solid structure like a dorm room.
Now granted some had to stay in 'weather havens' (a tent the size of an aircraft hanger), but still they had running hot and cold water, air conditioning, a walled off room and electricity.
I wouldn’t put it past the Americans to just stick these guys in a field tent, with maybe some power and a port-a-john 25m away from the door.
They will still get the wonderful food services though (steak and lobster Fridays) as well as access to Burger King, Subway, some Korean joint that I can never remember the name to, and of course Tim Hortons.
With all that said any soldier that is staying in KAF is in more comfort then someone staying in a FOB and is at a 5 star resort when you compare what you have to go through at a liger.
