I used to LOVE National Geographic and subscribed to it up until about ten years ago.

They had one particular issue in which every major article mentioned global warming and I just had it with how they'd become an activist organization instead of just doing what they'd done so well for over a century.

I'll still pick it up when I'm at the dentist and unless the issue is older than about 2002 then it's often little more than a screed promoting global warming...like this story in question.

Sad because NG used to be a highly trustworthy and politically neutral source of information.

Replace NG with David Suzuki and it's the same for me.

You still pick up David Suzuki when you’re at the dentist? I didn’t know the two of you had the same dentist.

No.
National Geographic has always been the same. When you were young and impressionable, the brainwashing was to lead you towards an innocuous cartoon tunnel-vision of the rest of the world.

For every naked native you saw peacefully laying down a thatch roof, there were millions of poor natives being beaten off of their land that you did not see.
For every leopard you saw chasing a gazelle, there were millions of leopards who were being executed with an iron rod jammed up their asses so as not to damage their pelts.

Climate change doesn't give a shit if you're a liberal, conservative, a communist or a libertarian.

Things like the bleaching of the Great Barrier Reef, melting Arctic ice, longer and more intense wildfire seasons due to longer droughts, extreme weather and everything else doesn't care what your political affiliation is - they affect all of us.

All the NG is doing is reporting what they see happening.
