Similar noises have been heard in Northern Alberta and Southern Manitoba recently. While the article suggest they think they know what it is, I wonder if they are interrelated?

this could also be due to the massive CME last Friday from the Sun. The storm was so intense that the EM radiation de-exitation was resulting in resonance. This was the audible 'noise'. I heard it in Calgary last week and it was also reported in Saskatoon, North Battleford and Whitehorse.

That being said, while fairly localized depending on the magnetic flux, I doubt it would have registered on any seismic equipment. Strange.

The only problem with putting the blame on the recent CME is that this has been ongoing for nearly a year now...

I'm curious as to why this just started happening last year cuz the steel mills on Zug Island have been around for as long as I can remember.
