That's actually what he was doing, although as a citizen I'm sure he'll be back. Passengers were warned about the delays because of the heightened threat level.

What the grand mufti should be saying instead is thank you for keeping Australia safe and treating Muslims like everybody else (;ie he wasn't the only one searched). We fully stand behind this effort to avert the jihadi dickheads. (deekhaids, as they would say.

Muslims should look in the bloody mirror on this issue. It's been the behaviour of too many Muslim brothers in airports and on airliners since the late 1960's that's almost entirely responsible for the ridiculous security requirements that have come into place over the last 45 years.

Muslims have no right to be upset about having to wait for things in long lines. They should enjoy longer wait times in the name of freedom. Maybe they hate freedom.

It's the refusal of Western countries to profile and look for suspicious folks from the moment they arrive like the Israelis do that results in all the ridiculous delays and checks travelers outside of Israel endure.
