Movie theater concessions are no different from concessions at sporting events, concerts, carnivals, etc. Of course the prices can be outrageous. They are there for the convenience of people who
opt not to eat/drink elsewhere before or after the event and you pay for that "convenience".
Your admission ticket does not include any obligation to spend more money once inside, that choice is yours, plain and simple.
If you can't afford the prices then don't buy anything. If resisting is too hard for you then don't go at all.
