Now let's see if President Trump makes good on his promise to militarize and close the US-Mexico border.
If he does then the GOP will sweep the November elections.
Doesn't Posse Comitatus prevent the US military from operating domestically? Is there a way to force activate all the National Guard without state level approval?
The US military can't be used as a domestic police force under the Posse Comitatus Act because when the law was drafted there was a legitimate concern that the forces could be turned into a weapon for a president to use against his domestic political enemies and any protesting members of the general public exercising their constitutional right to peacefully dissent. The forces can however be deployed to border security against a potential external threat, even though this ridiculous caravan is about as much of a threat to the United States as the Antifa pricks vandalizing a Starbucks or campus SJW's protesting a Milo Yiannopoulous speech are. But it will be fun to watch anyway, having the POSPOTUS deploy the might of the American military at the cost of billions in order to chase away a bunch of potential fruit-pickers and motel chamber maids. But, once again....

A few thousand men, woman and children are hardly a national security crisis for either government.
Stop your silly talk! These thousands of people are highly trained MS-13 agents bent on overthrowing the entire US government!
Word is that at least two-thirds of them are also ISIS members cleverly disguised as the dirtiest of the dirt-poor. Because, y'know, Muslims and Latinos are effectively interchangable.
