They have called me twice, both times I gave them a good tongue lashing, not that it will do anything but it sure made me feel good.

When they call me, they say they are from "Windows tech support". I like having fun with them. I've told them stuff like I work for Microsoft Canada and we don't call people at home for any reason. Or I'll ask them how they managed to get my phone number from "Windows" when they don't even know my goddam name. My phone number is nowhere to be found on my computer, my first name is.

One day I played along with them. They gave me instructions to open up my Windows event viewer. I didn't actually follow them, just pretended to. When the goof asked me what I saw in the window I told him I saw of video of his mother sucking off a donkey.

One of these goofs phoned me a couple of months ago offering me a much better interest rate on my credit cards. I played him for a while then hung up on him. The fucker phoned me back & was ranting & raving " what kind of fuckin asshole are you? We offering a better rate you fuckin idiot." Wish I had of recorded that!

I lead them on for a while, then 'drop the bomb'.

I took a similar call yesterday and kept calling the guy on the other end of the phone 'Mr. Gandu'.

He hung up the third time.

If I get sales pitch calls at work I just say "Can I put you on hold for a minute" Push the hold button and call the boss. We bet on how long it will take them to hang up.

I got one today from "Rogers" offering my a fantastic deal for new customers. Phone/cable/internet for $84/mo for the first year and $125 for life after that.
I asked him why the fuck he was calling me then since I've been a Rogers customer for over 20 years. He just hung up.

Called Rogers and let them know about the new scam and gave them the phone number that called me, for what that was worth.

I get those 'new customer' calls from ShawDirect all the time, the sat's in the old lady's name. I always ask why new customers get a deal what do we get for shelling out $100 a month for ten years.
They always say they'll get back to me. Never do. No deals....

This is kind of the reverse of the much more commonly occurring 'man recorded threatening to kill Microsoft Support staff'.

I'm at the stage where if the name on the call display isn't someone I know I won't answer it. Legit business will leave a message. If they don't then it's some asshole from some sales gimmick, some bullshit charity*, or the goddamn Conservatives** phoning again. Fuck 'em all.

* we donated once to a charity over fifteen years ago when we left the old house; no matter how many times I tell them I don't have anything to donate now they still phone at least four or five times a year, like I build up enough clothes every three months to give away. GRAB. A. FUCKING. CLUE. ALREADY.
