Luongo's stock drops even further right along with Gillis' reputation as a competent General Manager.

While it's an excellent trade for the Leafs, it makes you wonder what management's problem with Reimer was? Prior to the playoffs, they were contemplating getting busted down Kiprusoff.
Bernier is young, talented and should fit right in with the Leafs.

$1:
The GM also said that in no way should the trade be looked upon as a vote of non-confidence for James Reimer.
Um, I don't think you traded all that you did to have Bernier sit on the bench. Unless Bernier bombs Reimer's days as #1 are done.

I think it's a good deal for Toronto.
I wouldn't be surprised to see them move Reimer out as part of a package for a #1 Centre.

I'm not sure how much market value Reimer has considering he's still not a proven #1 goalie, however if Nonis can pull the Bernier deal out of his ass then maybe there's still some magic in that old silk hat.

Any of you Leaf's fans hear anything about them shopping Phaneuf and the reason I ask is because I heard something on TSN just before OTR?
I can't see it but, Nonis is a product of the Burke school of General Managing so anything is possible.
