Those who fought Hitler would likely be disgusted with what has become of our own society. They understood that evil had to be confronted and defeated, and sacrifices had to be made, unlike today's enablers and collaborators that claim to be defenders of democracy and Western values.

It does appear that he needs some help to deal with what happened. Feeling guilty for someone having to face punishment for committing a crime against you is not right at all.

Keep in context what people are being taught in schools now, and have been for a long time too, and it becomes a lot easier to understand why and how they loath themselves and their civilization so much. The politicians of all parties, almost all of whom would sell out everything they can to look hip, don't help much either. A more sensible civilization would call it treason but apparently sense disappeared a long time ago from the circles of the elite.
