$1:
The resolution also prohibits city employees from traveling to Arizona "unless special circumstances can be demonstrated" that canceling a trip would "harm city interests."

Don't they have a law against that?

I'm hoping they mean ONLY official trips 8O and not personal trips by city employees.

Lot's of Latin artists (singers), movie stars and businesses are boycotting the state.

The state is going to lose billions. Hope this law is worth it to them.

Cool. Here's who they're arguing with...

$1:
The public broadly supports a new Arizona law aimed at dealing with illegal immigration and the law’s provisions giving police increased powers to stop and detain people who are suspected of being in the country illegally.

Fully 73% say they approve of requiring people to produce documents verifying their legal status if police ask for them. Two-thirds (67%) approve of allowing police to detain anyone who cannot verify their legal status, while 62% approve of allowing police to question people they think may be in the country illegally.

It would be fun to watch if the cops start asking white people for their papers proving they are citizens, and throw their asses in jail if they don't have such proof on them. That approval rating would go down in a hurry.

Holy crap. Other states actually boycotting travel to another state? Withdrawl of a girl's basketball team to compete in a tournament because of safety concerns? Entertainers boycotting too?

Gee at this rate is Arizona at risk now at being kicked out of the USA altogether?

What, you mean like if an Arizona cop pulled over somebody who turned out to be with the Russian mob, and he got thrown out of the country as an illegal, you think that would affect the approval rating for the Arizona bill? No it wouldn't.

The Arizona law does not allow racial profiling. Again it allows state police to enforce existing federal law. If you're in the country illegally, the majority of Americans don't want you there. They don't care if you're Russian, Mexican, or Heaven forbid, even Canadian.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
Nope, people are pissed. Arizona will give up eventually or follow through the plot of the movie "The Second Civil War".

Eh...okay? So because Los Angeles and San Fransisco city governments are making themselves look extremely retarded, Arizona will change or need to break off from the United States?

This entire situation is retarded. Arizona passes a law that the federal government already has in place. Whiny assholes in California (with much bigger issues) make the Arizona law a distraction from their own financial situations.
