From what I know of of Whitehorse prices, that's probably only about $80 worth of booze in Edmonton.

$1:
Documents show that the total retail loss was $50,873.05.

But the government claimed less than half of that in insurance, because the markup for liquor is more than double the wholesale price.

Pretty much.

This is what happens when you allow government to control the booze supply.

You would think but in Alberta booze is sold private business and is more expensive than the same products in Ontario........which is provincially run. Either way we get ripped off.

In the case of Whitehorse, at least, I don't think it has anything to do with the government really. It's purely market forces. It costs a lot to get things up there, therefore they cost a lot to buy.

More expensive, but not wasted.

They'll be jumping off of the tops of their two story buildings in dismay, this winter. Maybe a relief convoy will make it through.
