There is a memorial to this
on Vancouver Island, towards Tofino.
I have a picture somewhere, have to find it.
Why would they have put the Memorial out there?
There's got to be some significant historical reason, either that or the Gov't doesn't want to properly acknowledge the battle since no one in their right mind would put a military memorial out in Hippie Central.

It's the part of Canada closest to Korea.
Other than that, no idea.
Victoria or Nanaimo would have been much better choices.
It's off highway 4, between Tofino airport and Tofino,
next to a place called Radar Hill.
Absolute middle of nowhere.
