First, what's $1M to a massive economy? Second, is this political interference? Third, why didn't he man up and offer Notley herself $1M if he REALLY wanted to put his money where is mouth is?
O'Leary is only mildly entertaining at his best.

O'Leary just likes the sound of his own voice. I like the video of him getting taken to school by a 14 year over GMO's. Too funny.

I bet his next move will be to ask for her birth certificate.

I saw him on CBC and there was a guy promoting his business, he brings up the band Led Zeppelin and tells him something like "remember when you played Zeppelin I for the first time?" O'Leary's stiff response was "umm, no" or something along those lines while he shot down his interest in music, in quite a pompous way as I recall as this poor guy was trying to be upbeat and cheerful.
Anyways, above and beyond the other antics and dislike others who have worked with him have expressed, it really resonated with me, especially coming from his generation.
As Jack White famously once stated "I don't trust anyone who doesn't like Led Zeppelin"...

I always thought he was an asshole on Dragons Den because anytime someone had an idea that he knew would make money he would always demand 51% ownership. And you knew that once it took off he would cut you loose.

I don't know him personally so I can't speak with great confidence outside of what I have seen from this guy, but if he wanted 51% of a business I built he would pay a serious premium.

He's a very successful business man but he's very one dimensional. He's like Gene Simmons from KISS, all he talks about is money.

I hold nothing against him if all he talks about is money, but when you have a bunch of cash and still have an acidic personality, I have no need for you. This $1 million "offer" is nothing more than political whining. His big $1 million offer is peanuts.
I don't support the NDP, but voters have spoken, and I don't live in Alberta but we have to respect the process. Let me tell you, Ontario is a lot worse, and it won't improve when the price of oil inevitably does.

I have the best of both worlds, maintaining a house in Ontario with the highest hydro rates in North America and working in Alberta and not knowing if I still have work when I get up in the morning.
