Hagman is a liability, he needs to go. The leafs have been playing better of late. They are starting to gel. Lately, they have been in every game. The bounces their way will start to come. Mark my words.

You have a St.Louis Blues symbol, and you are commenting about the Leafs? Really?

The Leafs are to TO & Canada, what the Yankees are to NYC & America...

All Canadians outside of Quebec are in truth closet Leaf fans....

BUT YES I'm a Blues fan. Been following the Blues since 1968...

Good thing you said "outside of Quebec".
I would have reported you.

I remember when it was just the original 6 until the first expansion in 1967.
I lived mostly in Nova Scotia until 1971 before coming back to Québec.

A lot (and I mean a lot) of NS hockey fans loved the Canadiens, not the Leafs.
I'd like to know from some of the older Westerners who they cheered for at that time.

True story: I was going out with a girl in NS and went to meet her parents for the first time on a Saturday night. Her father gave me the "you touch my daughter and I'll kill you" look and then sat back down to watch the Canadiens game. He didn't know yet that I was from Québec. I sat down and then the camera showed the Canadiens bench and a woman who worked at the forum standing behind the bench. I told him she was my aunt and from that point on, I never had a problem with him and never got "that" look again. :D

As a small kid, I was a Habs fan, because my Dad was from Montreal. He became a Habs fan when the Maroons folded. He took me to a Leafs game at the Gardens when I was 10. That was in 1964, the second-last time they won the Cup. I've been a Leafs fan ever since. I was fortunate enough to attend Billy Harris' hockey school in 1968, and was taught defence by him and shooting by Dave Keon. I also met Bob Nevin, Eddie Shack and Bob Pulford. Glory days indeed!

Kessel looked good last night - any real hockey fan know he's not the answer, but he's part of the solution. The Buds still need a frontline centre as Stajan really is a 3rd liner at best. A step in the right direction

We'll have to wait and see if the Kessel trade favours TO or Boston. He's a good young player, maybe even very good, but will he be worth those lost draft picks. Especially if Toronto doesn't start winning.

BTW I was extremely sorry to see Kessel go, especially looking at how the Bruins can't seem to find the back of the net right now. :?

This is true, but drafting is still risky - Boston might still get a stinker. When you look at it, Burke traded for a first-round draft pick that was a proven commodity. Boston assumed the risk. Will it pay off? That's the hard part.

I'm hoping it pays off for Boston. 8)
