This headline is Asinine. In winter there is always the risk of Frostbite. Doesn't matter if it's -10 or -40, the potential is there.

We've been getting the "frostbite in minutes" warning more often this year.

For Canada this is just rank alarmism. No doubt there's some fellow in Churchill, Man seeing this and saying, "Frostbite in minutes instead of seconds? It's that warm in Ontario? You lucky bastards!"

Yesterday had to shovel about four feet of global warming frostbite off my drive.

About 110km from here:

8)

California is so full of extremes! We've often managed to have the hottest temps in the 48 states (Death Valley) and the coldest temps (Truckee) all on the same day. Plus we get 'snowstorms' that in any other state would constitute a blizzard.

Can't even say the last time anyone declared an actual 'blizzard' in California.

It appears that our winters have become so mild in recent years that some people have forgotten that there is always a huge mass of arctic air hovering on our doorstep every year.

Here in Montreal, we had very cold weather (-20+) last week and one day of rain last Thursday and then again cold. And snow. I'm working downtown and most of the sidewalks have about 2 inches of ice mixed with snow. I'm more worried about falling while walking.

Two years ago, the city boroughs decided to change the garbage schedule from 2 times a week to 1 time a week. Taxes are still getting up and services are going down.
