I wouldnt say all do, but even the Japanese researchers only kill less than 1% of the Minke whale population. Which is one of the reasons why normal people dont really pitch a fit about the whaling.

Well some whales are endangered, and obviously they have that higher comprehension thing. I think the question you should ask is "what's the difference between eating a dog/horse/parrot and a whale?"

Cetaceans are one of the most highly evolved mammalian orders on the planet, arguably exceeded only by humans. I may gut a Walleye, but I wouldn't slit a dolphins throat.

To put it in basic English, killing a cetacean is a dick move.
