I foresee Watson being captured, and sent to jail. Where he will bitch out, and change his ways for early release then have a brief comeback before 'retiring'.

Instead of going after Paul Watson, why don't the authorities do something useful.....like collaring all those illegal whalers and shark-finners that are doing real harm?
I can't fault Watson. Instead of talking about a situation, he went out and did something about it. He stands up for what he believes in. I have nothing but respect for this man,.

-J. Do you eat meat? If so then you have no right to criticize what others eat as long as the species involved show population growth (all of which do).

I wouldnt say all do, but even the Japanese researchers only kill less than 1% of the Minke whale population. Which is one of the reasons why normal people dont really pitch a fit about the whaling. -J. Wade Page Wade Page: 'Passive submission is indirect support to the oppressors. Stand up for yourself and live the 14 words,' Some could argue that Wade Page is a lot like Watson, in many ways.

How dare the Japanese slaughter whales, sharks and dolphins? They should be slaughtering cows, pigs, and chickens, just like us!

Well some whales are endangered, and obviously they have that higher comprehension thing. I think the question you should ask is "what's the difference between eating a dog/horse/parrot and a whale?"

Cetaceans are one of the most highly evolved mammalian orders on the planet, arguably exceeded only by humans. I may gut a Walleye, but I wouldn't slit a dolphins throat.
To put it in basic English, killing a cetacean is a dick move.

Not to mention that because of rampant pollution in the world's oceans, most if not all cetaceans have mercury poisoning which means you'd get it too if you ate whale or dolphin.

If memory serves, being at the top of the food chain, the Orca population off the West coast of BC, Washington and Alaska are some of the most highly contaminated sea life in the world, the major pollutants being PCBs and DDT, other chemicals found in the bodies of killer whales have included polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and polychlorinated napthalenes (PCNs).

You gotta kill way more dogs/horses/parrots to feed the same number of people as one whale.
