Hmmn.....I thought they were also discussing the size of goalie's equipment....must be on the back burner for now. Be interesting to see how the hybrid icing works - if it eliminates injuries as it is supposed to, good idea.

Hybrid icing is crap! Bring back "the pick" and hybrid icing won't be necessary.

The only reason this has become a problem was the league's idea that the game needed to be "sped up" because apparently, the same demographic who can't seem to get enough of watching two of the most boring sports on the planet,(baseball and golf), found hockey to be "boring" and "slow".
Couple that with the fact that the players don't wear padding so much as they wear body armour and big surprise there are more injuries along the end boards.

All hybrid icing is is a screw-up intended to fix a previous screw-up.

HOWEVER, after seeing some of the players miss icing calls this playoffs because of the noise, I think a good idea would be to have a person beside the goal judge who flicks on a yellow light when an icing has been indicated by the on-ice officials.

I think goalie equipment is still a live issue, as it should be.
