N_Fiddledog N_Fiddledog:

A mere symptom of the direction this first post national nation is heading under the "be woke and let's go broke" crowd. Unfortunately for us we're a seriously broken country and need a leader with a head on their shoulders and an actual spine to fix this debacle, if that's even possible.

This guy knowingly committed fraud; and he won? Wow, the so-called Human Rights tribunal's need to disbanded and these types of claims need to be heard in a court of law where the rule of law is still followed. What a fucking joke.

What, you don't ascribe to the Star Chamber method of justice? How unwoke of you. [B-o]

I'm sorry, I'm super unwoke. I still ascribe to the archaic and draconian school of "common sense"

And that is seriously lacking with some people.

If it were a smaller business then they'd probably take it to the regular court system to fight it out. But with a huge corporation like Imperial where the bean & penny counters usually get the final say they might just pay it out to get the annoyance over with. This becomes a further danger to common sense and rationality if they do decide cut their losses and not appeal. By going no further this retarded decision effectively becomes ensconced legal precedent which makes it enforceable in other similar cases. I can see the Ford government rewriting the regulations the star chamber operates under to get them under some kind of control. Unfortunately they wouldn't be able to abolish the commission altogether, which is absolutely what should happen, or ram new law through to reverse these kinds of lunatic decisions.

Including the ones in all Human Rights Tribunals who seem to go out of their way to punish the hardworking Canadians while catering to the non citizens like this guy.

Unfortunately there is no way for this company to really appeal this travesty of supposed justice since all they can do is ask for a reconsideration which, is pretty much like asking the Captain of the Titanic to take her around again so you can see the iceberg first hand.

So they'll have to suck it up and wait till some other lying asswipe shows up on their doorstep claiming that he was discriminated against. Although, I would have thought that reneging on a job offer because the applicant lied on his application would be a civil matter not a human rights one but, apparently in Ontario everytime you don't do bow to one of these non citizens demands it's a human rights violation no matter the circumstances.
