Suck it up princess, it's the computer age and nothing is safe from leaks anymore. The REAL Wolverine would have found the party responsable and slashed them to bits!
Having said that, I want to see this movie

Ya, suck it up princess. People need to steal things, otherwise they'd have to pay.

If this doesn't generate buzz then what will? Of the people that downloaded (I didn't) how many would have paid to watch when it does come out or at least rent it? Then when it does come out completed how many that saw it will still go? The fact is this is not lost market share, these people were never going anyway.

If there were subscriptions to theaters just like there was to sporting events where the option of all you can eat is on the table and it is not obscenely priced then the movie industry stands a chance of not treading the same path as the record industry. The have got to motivate and innovate so that watching at home is NOTHING compared to the theater. Be that 3D or moving seats the visuals and sounds of home theater are impressive but IMAX blows it all away and the industry needs to tap on that vein because movies are going to end up online one way or another.

If people aren't happy with the product they have an option to stop using it. Stealing it isn't a legitimate option.

That argument was what the record industry tried in the 80's when they were charging upwards of 40$ a CD. Sorry, it doesn't wash. Hype it all you want, if you are stealing from an industry that is watering down the product and over charging then they are modern day Robin Hoods. If they make quality and make the costs reasonable they will still have graft but it won't be wholesale and it won't threaten to collapse the industry under the weight of their own hubris and elitism that locks out the fans like scalper prices stops people from going to shows. When the industry creates a monopoly, anarchy creates a free market.

From what I understand it wasn't the complete movie anyway.

Not much better than those POS theatre cams. People who dl'ed will go and see the finished product.

Crap or no, stealing is not justified because the product sucks. In this case Wolverine would probably be worth the 10 bucks you pay to watch it in the theater. Basically it's just cheap people who like to steal instead of paying.

The effects were not complete but it was a DVD master. So the quality was state of the art.

That presupposes they would have paid to begin with. If anything this created buzz that will have people see the film that had otherwise not have heard of the flick and some that did D/l will also paid to see or rent the film that otherwise would not have gone. It's not an issue of morality, it's an issue of convenience at this point. The studio had the onus to secure the masters and they failed. It is now out worldwide and there is no way to close pandora's box.

So lock your doors or you deserve to be robbed.

If it is a commodity and you fail to secure it are the cops to blame for your loss?

This makes no sense. The people who stole this movie were not the police, they were the criminals. Any perceived injustice aside, the law states that if you STEAL something, you're a criminal. Plain and simple. Whoever stole this version were breaking the law.
