Most ships/planes don't carry imaging radar so most won't be able to tell the type of ship based on the radar paint. The fact that the Zumwalt uses the AN/Spy-3 radar, a newer version that the Ticonderoga class carries, means that any ship with even basic ESM capabilities will be able to tell that blip on the radar is the Zumwalt since the Spy radar tends to put out massive amounts of energy. Plus the Zumwalt is kinda ugly. I wonder how she rides in rough seas?

The entire point of stealth tech is to allow you to engage (and destroy) your enemy before they know you are there. If the radar is activated, I bet this ship is more than capable of defending itself, so it doesn't matter if it shows up on radar at that point.

Personally, I think the Zumwalt looks kind of cool - like a throwback to WW1 dreadnaughts.

WW1 dreadnoughts were pretty conventional looking battleships.

I think it looks like an civil war era ironclad.

I thought that "Merrimac" would have been an appropriate name for her, too.

To Confederate, I suppose. The war DID end, didn't it?
