Going by memory here but I'm sure I saw the pet cemetery for military dogs in, or around Edinburgh Castle.

The pet cemetary at the Presdio in San Francisco was going to be plowed up by the anti-military San Francisco liberals when they took over the base in 1994 and it was the old duffers and (God love 'em) the liberal animal lovers who saved it. There's an awful lot of German Shepherd service dogs in there who spent their lives on guard duty and it's hard not to think of them as Brothers. [B-o]

our dogs sense our moods, our sicknesses and our passing. The bond between a dog and its human companion is incredibly deep, and quite often they are better friends than other humans. A religious friend of mine, once told me that dogs are reminders and examples of what unconditional love is.

RIP

Having a bomb dog with us overseas was the best moral support we could ask for. We had the same three teams for the whole tour. Loved those dogs.

We had two of them the last job I did on Kinmen. On one beach they found an additional twelve mines that our teams equipment had missed.
