Maybe if Toyota and GM hadn't been so busy trying to be #1 in sales world wide, they could have paid a little more attention to quality control.

No suprise to see the Ranger/B-series in there. They've been building that same basic truck for a looong time. Have all the bugs worked out for sure. It's not fancy, but it's rock solid reliable.

I've owned one, a 2004 Ranger XLT 4x4. Wasn't sure what I'd think, had always drove half tons before, but the little truck won me over. @ ~210 HP that little truck did everything I ever asked it to, no problem. Plus it was cheap to insure, put tires on, and gas in.

Was going to buy another one until my lovely wife asked where I would fit a baby seat. :?
So I'm back to driving an F-150.

My Jetta is a dream for both fuel economy and service. Now if they would just make a diesel or hybrid minivan.

They make diesel everything in Europe. We just need to get the standards for Diesel fuel synchronized so those engines will run over here.

Has VW finally changed that fucked up shift pattern in their standard transmissions?
Puttin' reverse a fraction of a centimeter from 1st gear sure is a good way to be in the shop for regular repairs

The wife and I are considering trading away her Volvo for one of the Mercedes GL350 BlueTEC diesels. Super low emissions with a 210-hp, 400 lb-ft torque, 3.0-litre, V-6. Best part, no stinky exhaust!

I'm pretty satisfied with Volvo. My old 850 cost like hell to fix when it had a problem, but in 300,000 miles it was only one major problem and that was 100% covered by the warranty.

Volvo? Stinky exhaust? What kind of Volvo do you have? I've got a 2007 S80 that replaced my 1993 850.

She's driving a 2008 S80 with bugger all on it for miles (she likes driving my car more :( ). Besides, she says she wants something that she can fill with crap from the feed store and return in one trip. What's really funny is she bitches about her gas mileage and doesn't have a problem with what mine gets :? . Especially if you want to have a little fun!

Not the Volvo. Any diesel we'd looked at in the past.

Yeah well, VW now makes a diesel SUV with a V-6(Tiguan), so it should be just a few years away.

After driving a diesel and having such amazing fuel economy (Edmonton to Victoria for $150 return last summer), I just can't go back to a regular car.

Doesn't VW have a clean diesel version of the "Toe-Rag" here now?
