This isn't his first experience with universal derision. Ten years ago, Jay Leno was clowning Boyd for a different and even more egregious asshole move: Boyd and a fellow owner of Frank's Pizza in Manitoba fired a delivery driver because she stopped to assist a gunshot victim.

Aside from not being a serial killer, that we know of anyway, whatever can possibly go wrong with an individual's character and personality seems to have found a home in this prick's mind and soul.

Why are so many hockey parents such obnoxious douches, anyway? Is it because they're obsessed with little Johnny becoming the next Wayne Gretzky and earning a multimillion-dollar salary so they never have to work again? Or is it because they just want bragging rights to lord over everybody else, even though they themselves didn't do anything to earn it?

I remember the way Don Cherry used to condemn parents who were like this. I would have liked to see this asshole threaten that other hockey parent if Cherry had been there.

I would have paid good money to see that.

It would have been bad. Any guy that's low enough to laugh at a kid getting hurt wouldn't have any problem at all with beating up an 80-year old man. This Boyd creature is pure scum, through and through. A comment in the Deadspin article I linked claimed that Boyd even threatened/engaged in threatening behaviour towards a police officer. With this kind of track record Boyd's really only a couple of clicks away from being diagnosed as a genuine psychopath.

I don't know about that. Either Cherry would have kicked the guy's ass six ways from Sunday, or if this Boyd psycho did manage to win, his business would probably be ruined with the national exposure he'd have gotten from attacking a Canadian icon.

Either way, it would have been some pretty sweet karma.
