Can't even send our own tug to go and pick up our own ship ?

Pretty shameful stuff.

Apparently, the Navy didn't even announce that she was being towed to Esquimalt, She just quietly left. Some tipped-off CBC reporter broke the story. I wonder what's up?

Navy trying to hide it's own embarrassment.

We shouldn't put what's left out if we can't even go pick them up.

Rebuild, starting with Zodiacs.

Would you take a slightly used, only driven to church on Sunday's, 45 year old crème puff AOR in trade?

They're not going to fix or replace it so, they'd like the whole sordid affair forgotten as quickly as possible and having the hulk towed back by an American tug to boot doesn't fit that Government's no PR plan.

Tow it the Brownsville TX Naval Scrap Yard. They love paying a penny to scrap vessels or call the USCG and let us sink it.

They'll strip all of the gear off of her and she'll probably end up at a Bengali breaker, torn apart by gangs of bootless 14 year olds who are being paid two dollars a day. She's kind of big for the artificial reef bit, especially in a BC Fjord.
