Good for him. First super 8 hotels aren't bad I been in enough of them, but more to the point am glad a politician in North America doesn't do what most others do and go for the most luxurious that money can buy.

Well, it says he used the Super 8 for a DAY ROOM...ONCE. It does not say that he ever spent the night there or that he usually goes there. The other of Harper's hotels mentioned like the Frontenac, Hilton, Royal York, are all luxury.

Also, the last paragraph doesnt make sense: It claims the Tory PMO spends less than $2k a year compared to the Liberals $30k plus a year...not only is that an unbelievable number, but it contradicts the numbers in the rest of the article.

But that's the Sun for you...never really makes sense and articles are rarely thought out.

This is what they call a 'plant' story. Somebody in the PMO called a friendly connection at Sun media to have a friendly article written. It happens in politics.

$2K a year? I spend that on stationery, inks and toner in my little office! Get real, we aren't that dumb!

Even if he just used the Super 8's, that $2k figure would still be a little hard to believe.

I'm surprised too it's that low. Either he's getting whatever event/group to pay for his room, or maybe he's paying out of pocket. Either way, I'm not complaining.

No way, the newspapwer bungled that number, I can't see there being be any other plausible explanation. Maybe they're using a monthly rather than annual amount for the Conservatives, or maybe they missed a zero at the end of those numbers. Or maybe they just dont proofread the Conservative Party press releases before they publish them as "independent news articles."

Theres no way Harper is spending tens of thousands out of his own pocket, and if he were stiffing other people with his travel expenses, we'd have heard of it.

:roll: Dayroom; conference room; A room big enough to accomodate 20 or more people for business meetings. Standard equipment includes telecom services, satellite, usually one very large 'center table' with room for several side tables. Kitchenette fascilities. Most motels/hotels have these available to guests as well can be rented by others. Prebooking advised.

or;

He could have booked at the Banff Springs hotel, and paid all the expenses to get everyone there. But that would have meant a lot less $$$$ to send to Quebec! Make up your mind. You can't have it both ways!

Kenmore is likely confusing the dayroom with those little booths he frequents....with a pocket full of change.
