The pattern seems to be becoming clear. These aren't devout long time mulims, these are young guys looking for excitement and a cause. You get to kill people and go to heaven for it. Also, these guys are groomed as much as the girls in England, mostly over the internet. Seems pretty hard to prevent this sort of thing, we have to come up with ways that will keep us safe when they come home.

We should definitely try. But a lot of these guys get recruited over the internet. A local guy might introduce him to Islam, but the real grooming takes place over the net.

In the case of those heading to Israel, most of them appear to be of Jewish or full-on Israeli background. To suggest idiots like the Gordon brothers have any cultural, ethnic, national or spiritual connections to ISIS is so laughable that I can't believe you seriously tried to make that connection.

NOW, having said all that, ALL of those who have left to go join someone else's problem have made their choice. They've chosen their allegiance, and it's NOT to Canada. As far as I'm concerned, they should not be permitted re-entry into Canada. If they were born here, well too bad. Again, they made their choice.

The real joke here is that these 2 went "missing" late 2012. At the time we were actually funding the Syrian rebels who later went on to form ISIS. So who is more guilty, the people who funded them ? or the people who went their to fight with them?

ISIS was a splinter group of Al Qaeda. Don't thin we funded them.
