See, what I never understood was why Harper didn't just change things so that farmers who didn't want to use the CWB didn't have to, while farmers who did want to use it still could.
They talked about 'freedom' for marketers, but they took away the freedom for farmers to use the public option if they wanted to, and forced them to all market their grain through the private companies.
All the complaints I ever heard were about the mandatory nature of the CWB, and none of the rural-background people I asked ever had an issue with other farmers using the Board if those other guys wanted to.
And for all the criticism the Liberals have gotten for selling arms to the Saudis, why was there so little protest about the CWB's assets being sold by Harper to the Saudis for a song?
We can't sell them weapons, but it's okay to sell them food supply assets?
