Good riddance.

As Cromwell said on the Long Parliament and was echoed by Leo Emery in 1940 and aimed at Neville Chamberlain;

"You have sat here too long for any good you are doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!"

It's never too late to re-elect Maggie Thatcher. :wink:

They need another Maggie. The Brits have lost their way.

A coalition government... something we would not see here in Canada. It's been 3 minority governments and we would have another if the elections were tomorrow.

From Nick Clegg's policies on Wikipedia:
$1:
Since becoming leader he has called for more choice for patients on waiting lists in the National Health Service (NHS), giving them the option to go private and to be funded by the NHS if they wish; a substantial tax cut in order to "put more money back into the pockets of people", better action on the environment, the abandonment of Britain's Trident missile defence system in 2010, fixed-term parliaments (the incumbent government would not choose the date of the election, as it does currently); devolving more power to local councils; giving constituents the power to force a by-election if their MP was found responsible for serious wrongdoing and a slimming of government across the board.

I guess the conservatives and the libs dems can work something out that would help the UK and get them out of the stagnant state.

True, and he wasn't all bad. But Labour have been terrible for the UK.

I'll have to tune in to Mock the Week and see what jokes Dara O'Briain and the boys will come up with.

None of my British friends are happy with David Cameron... but, meh. Can't imagine he'd be a downgrade.

Good thing for the British. Maggie Thatcher's time in office wasn't good for Britain. Unemployment tripled. Industrial production was almost entirely farmed out to Germany and Japan. Poverty increased. Education and healthcare was destroyed. Thatcher was BAD for Britain. I don't know where this myth that Thatcher was a great leader was hatched, but it's nonesense.

Oh, well, she did stand up to the evil Argentinians. :roll:

I have no use for Thatcher because she did what she did on the backs of the poor and lower income groups. But didn't she turn around Britain's economic decline, same as Reagan did in the US? (At least till the bills came due)
