The Android devices are sure a far better buy. I could see them leaving Apple in the dust, eventually.

Google is primarally an advertising company. Android is one lever to help them do that. Android is a great OS, but it does 'phone home' quite a bit.

Having just recently got an Android phone (I have a tablet) I cannot understand why they're so popular.

The OS is clunky. The Google Play store is full of crap.

I have 3 phones right now. I have a Blackberry Z10, iPhone 5s and a Galaxy Note and the Android would be my last choice by FAR.

I do have to smile though; that one of the top downloaded apps for Android is Blackberry Messenger. :)

You might look at de-crapifying your Samsung. Because Android was meant to be generic and licensed by any phone manufacturer, I've read that it's the vendor installed apps that can lead to poor performance.

I wish it was a Samsung thing. For business, it can't handle a simple task like Exchange email without paying $20 for the Touchdown app. The OE mail client should work as flawless as iOS and BB10. Without mail and calendar, it's garbage to me.

I gave the phone back to our IT department today. They'll repurpose it somewhere else.

Weird.. Hundreds of thousands of people read email from exchange servers on Android every day.

Why doesn't it sync your calendar? It should.

I was given an Iphone for work and the one difference between it and my android device that would be a deal breaker is the lack of dedicated back, settings and home buttons.

It does. Seems like the IT people that should have set up the phone didn't. It's not hard to do with access to the right information, but it's still something that non IT employees shouldn't be doing on company gear.

I don't know enough tech talk to explain why but I have and android and Iphone and I agree, the Iphone just seems a lot smoother, more stable and easier to use and the IStore is much better than the Play store.

That said it does not mean Apple will not be eclipsed even more in the future as it seems to be making the same mistake it made decades ago. Mac is a better system than PC but it does not matter since PC wins out big time on sales. Just like the 80s home video player market. Beta video players were technically better than VHS but due to licensing issue VHS won out over them pretty quickly.

The better product does not always become the most accepted or used.

How is a Mac a better product than the more generic combination of hardware and software collectively the PC?

What objective standard have to used to reach that conclusion?

What subjective standard have you used to judge one better than the other?

After upgrading my Iphone5 and Ipad2 to IOS7 it feels like it was designed to corrupt earlier models so consumers would have to upgrade to current pricier ones. Having my not so great experince with BB10 and not sure about Android Windows is starting to look interesting.

Sometimes he claims to be the IT department. I'm kind of curious where his story will go today.

If you piece them all together he's the IT department of a used car lot on a reserve. With "actual experience with looking to hire and interviewing people in multiple industries"..

You don't have to turn into a petulant child because someone dares to 'diss' your beloved phone OS.

It's a personal preference.

As for the email issue, take a look around at the amount of single users and IT people that have problems with Exchange email on Android devices. Lots of variables with the actual server being used and the phone's OS, etc.

Touchdown makes the email experience on Android much better but the OE mail application should be as robust.
