Especially nowadays when that is something to apparently be determined at a future date. Do away with the whole pink and blue thing and go with a nice neutral colour like beige, unless of course that is a colour that offends someone or something that I am unaware of.

If someone absolutely must have one of these bullshit "parties" don't do it with a device that could potentially start a fire and destroy land and endanger the lives of people and other creatures. We've seen it happen many times where idiots start fires with this stupid ritual.

Originally, it was done by a couple who had had a few miscarriages iirc, and they had a reveal party to celebrate their not having one for once. Then it got out of hand and the person who started it has deep regret.

Yeesh, just do a cheesy announcement on social media. There are plenty of graphical emojis, captions and other stuff that you can use for that. If you want to get together with other people in person, just have a house party or a picnic in a local park with no pyrotechnics.

I find it hilarious that people make important life announcements on social media. Ohhh I want the whole world to know I'm engaged/knocked up/whatever!

I know, I know, it's what the young folks do nowadays. I'm from the generation that made telephone calls and wrote letters for such things. Back when I had friends/coworkers that were expecting a kid if they found out ahead what it would be it was kept private but more often it was a surprise to them as well. That's what made the "baby pool" more fun.

Gender reveals should be done like in the Lion King. Wait until the kid is born, take him naked outside on the balcony and lift him up for all to see. Then tell him, "one day, all you see will be yours".
