For Olympic security, they don't seem very well equipped... or consistant.

Apparently some also have no clue how to behave properly on the job.

Contract security outfits are more the same than different in this regard. They often pay poorly, so they get poor calibre employees.

Mitt Romney was right. The Brits were not so terribly well prepared for security. If they could not even properly vet the security guards for something like this that leaves one to wonder if a similar-minded 'Asian' (usually means a Paki in the UK) would conspire to assist in a terrorist attack on the Games?

And don't forget the unauthorized woman who walked into the stadium with India during the Opening Cermonies. Where's her pass? Why didn't anyone stop her? What if she had been armed?

The BS is that she was a 'cast member' yet if she was, then where's her pass? Only the costumed people were allowed onto the floor without a visible pass.

G4S is a shitty company. Everytime I work with them my opinion lowers. Just awful guards.

Won't surprise me in the least, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I did security once. It was my first job after high school. It was there that I developed the firm belief that, even in a world 26 years safely prior to Sept 11, that any security that isn't an arm of the police or the military is an absolute joke.

I'm not sure that something as huge as the Olympics could be 100% defended even with a massive police and military presence. Adding in security companies that follow the same business and staffing plan that Burger King or McChicken does only makes the chances of something happening even worse though. If organizations choose not to look at security as a legitimate function that should be staffed by legitimate employees, and not by a bunch of minimum-wage wonders, then too fooking bad for them if the bad guys attack and do something awful.
