You have to wonder what deal the rebels made with Sarkozy
in exchange for this clusterfuck.

Even before the no fly zone Sarkozy had a boner to get his jets in the sky.

If this happens I give it a week before the Szarkosy ends up in a Railway car in Tripoli signing Frances Terms of Surrender and Gaddafi's troops are holding a Victory Parade beneath the Arc De Triumph.. :D

My thoughts exactly France military policy these days include the Proper Protocol for Surrender. There may be a few million in the bank accounts in the French generals bank accounts.

I’m sure the UK Royal Air Force Tornado and Typhoon crews are jumping for joy at being under French command.

Can it get any better?

They could be under African Union Command of Robert Mugabe.

I couldn't see the AU getting much more in the air than a few Hind-D's.

Probably a shitload of cheap oil. The Americans and Chinese aren't the only ones worried about their oil supply.

True! France also gets to display the abilities of the Rafale and Mirage 2000. France had high hopes for international sales of the Rafale, and so far the contracts are way below expectations.

Someone had better step up and take control of this operation soon. The operation is only a few days old and the wheels are falling off. All the petty bickering between the allies makes me feel as though I am watching an episode of "the real world". I think it was a bad idea to intervene in Libya. That is hindsight. I think it would be a worse idea to drop some bombs and just walk away and leave Qaddafi in power. The coalition would look like a bunch of fools, and loose all credibility. Qaddafi would look like a superman who took on Nato and won. If is human nature to settle scores. We need to learn our lesson from the first Gulf war. You cannot go around droppling bombs on someone and leave them in power. France,Britain,Nato, the U.N, SOMEONE needs to get in the drivers seat and fast.
