I'm puzzled by this migrant map.



So, the 1 out of the 5 that actually is leaving Syria to take advantage of "refugee" perks at the end of trail, walks through Turkey all the way over to its West coast. From there they take a dangerous ocean trip across into Greece where they head north.

What I don't get is why don't they just head due north through Turkey, into Bulgaria, Romania, up into Austra. It looks like that would be the more direct route, and there's no ocean to cross.

Crossing by land gives the Turks time to chase and catch them, which they have been sort of doing.

Bulgaria has a fence along the border with Turkey. That's why most illegals prefer Greece, and then through Macedonia. No fence.


And this 'dangerous ocean voyage' from Turkey is a bald faced lie generated by NGOs and the media,
to generate sympathy.

It's 3 miles from the Turkish mainland to Kos. You could almost swim it.


It's the same lie in Libya. During Mare Nostrum, rescue boats came within 10 miles of the Libyan coast to pick migrants up.
10 miles is not a dangerous ocean voyage.
