This will be a test if the Chief really does want change in the EPS. I couldn't believe what I was reading here.

This is why we have a Second Amendment down here. Because what do you do when the criminals are the sworn officers of your own government? And, clearly, the government has done FA up to this point. A citizen killing this mutt in self-defense is absolutely acceptable given this asstard's record. Why he still wears a badge is not just an indictment of the entire EPS it is also a clear statement of the contempt the EPS has for the city it is supposed to serve.

I don't think it's an indictment for the entire force. Listening to the entire report, it sounds like the 'thin blue line' has protected this guy. Investigations didn't look into or weren't allowed to look at things, or he would have been suspended long before he shot that teenager. Taking suspects for 'walks around the block' had to have been kept from supervisors.

And it's sad that the only one fighting for what's right is the only one to lose their job.

The bag of shit will be gone no doubt, but the true test will be if they bring this cop back. There were also more officers who knew and may also be in more senior positions by now......which can still make life hell if he goes back.

Yeah going back would be hard, even if allowed it would be hell on earth for him.

If a guy is cuffed up there is little justification to use strikes against him even if he is resisting. Hell the other day I had to take down a 6' 1" over 200 pound guy with another officer and we got him down until other officers who came were able to hook him up. Required no punches to be thrown and he was not even cuffed to start.

Last time one of our guys tried striking a cuffed inmate he was fired. I think he's mowing lawns for a living now.

Hope this guy gets canned really soon if this stuff is true.

Holy shit. I've seen 'violent' arrests, but I've never seen one that savage. Jesus. I couldn't watch all of it.

So the kid was lippy, I'd let him say his piece and walk on, not beat him senseless with an asp, and then stop cuffing him so they could turn the dog on him. Those 'cops' need to be fired and go to jail.

The kid was charged with aggravated assault because in the melee he allegedly punched a cop and he choked the German Shepard that was trying to tear his throat out.

There is justified use of force and then there is that. Wow.
The K-9 copper has been investigated 15 times, 12 of those investigations were for excessive force.

Good news is that he is suing.

"Hey guys why don't we surprise him with OC spray point blank in the face then when he grabs for his face (as most will) we grab his arms and twist him up and cuff him?" "Nah lets just ASP him randomly on parts of the body that have no pressure or motor points until the dog shows up to maul him!"

why does this not surprise me? No wonder why the public in general is becoming more distrusting of policing, and comments from the chief like "we'll handle it" don't sit to well either, because apparently it was never handled so what gives any confidence it will be handled this time? Just because the cops got caught with their hands in the cookie jar?

Interestingly, had this scene taken place in Iraq when I was over there - with Iraqi police doing to a citizen what these thugs did to that kid - I'd have shot all of them, written it up in my after action report, and probably ended up with a commendation for protecting the rights of an Iraqi from their police.

I'm honestly not seeing why American cops should get a pass on something American soldiers would be expected to kill Iraqi cops for doing.

This is only the cases that we know of, you can be quite sure they do much worse damage to people's lives while undercover...and this damage is permanent, with absolutely ZERO accountability. I have posted my story here and elsewhere, and I have read of scary stories of cops in England working undercover for 8 years in a relationship! Moving into a ladies home, basically her lover and love of this lady's life and then one day he disappears when she finds out that he is undercover...I cannot even fathom it.

Like most citizens I support those who are stand-up police protecting those who need it when they need it, I have little respect for bully cops who use their badge as a pass to be a prick and even less for undercovers who pretend somehow that they are in grave danger when they sell a dime of weed to the local teenager...

I applaud these stories. I don't care what mainstream news outlet posts them, the more people realize what is going on the better our chances to reign in these agencies that have been playing far too loose and free with their powers for far too long.

In closing...Go Leafs Go!

Very interesting perspective. How does one effect wholesale culture change in a nation as large and as populated as the US?
