Hmmm...a machine that is either an ungainly car or a underperforming airplane...I'll pass.

Maybe they will make a sporty model.
I don't really like the idea, having to watch out for flying cars.
But I guess it worked out for the Jetsons.

Another recycled idea. The autocar was first built by Taylor in 1949, but when he only got half of the 500 required orders for mass production, it stopped with only 6 cars produced. One was on the Bob Cummings show in the 1950's.

It reportedly only took 5 minutes to convert from car to plane and had a range of 300 miles with a top speed of about 115 mph in the air. It also had a 12,000 ft ceiling. The stats put it ahead of the current model by quite a bit. Of course 1950 safety standards were not as strict as today.

Flying cars my ass....Image While the concept may be of interest to the masses I can't see it becoming a reality for day to day transport for the general public, or even a minor portion of it. All it will become is another toy for the rich and crazy. Anyhow, don't we already have enough shit in the air as things stand right now?

That's all we need, empty Timmies coffee cups and McD wrappers coming at us from the sky.

There's always this company's version. Don't know if the price would be any better.

The masses drive badly enough now. I really don't want to see them do it in 3D.

True, most people already have trouble merging when all they have to worry about is left and right, imagine adding up and down at the same time. A 4 lane highway gives nightmares to some, now we'll have 4 wide and 4 tall for a total of 16. 8O
