I don't think anyone really wanted to read a story like that. It's too bad there are people still walking the streets whose actions generate outrageous stories like this.

Just a lot of heartless people out there - wonder if its getting worse. Less ties to family and community, much more competitive, self-focused society maybe producing more and more people just involved with themselves. To her the puppy was just a glamour enhancement object, probably get rid of it once it grows up.

You mean you're upset that people are not being inculcated with a common set of morals and values that would preclude such behavior?

Sorry chum, but this is the world the left has worked hard to create over the past eighty years. They've invested generations into calling people who speak of morals and values as narrow minded, ignorant bigots. They've made the mere mention of morals and values a matter of instant mockery and scorn.

And now you're upset that the world your people created is full of selfish, evil people?

Less ties to family occur when government insists on being everyone's parent and community. People become selfish because they've been told from birth that they're entitled to an income, entitled to happiness, entitled to every whim and they've been told that they have a right to all of these things and more.

Further, you're offended that one of the offspring of your perfect society killed a puppy? But at the same time you've advocated for people to be able to kill their parents via euthanasia? You don't see how someone who would think it's okay to kill their parents because they're old and inconvenient wouldn't think twice about killing a puppy because it was inconvenient?

Maybe it's time for you to re-examine the agenda you've been supporting because this is the absolute product of it.

Naw, sorry, it's the Thatcherites with "there is no society". It's the right celebrating winners vs losers. It's capitalism that demands both parents work and work long hours, then spend a lot of time commuting. It's chasing the almighty buck, buying bling and being told if you don't the terrorists have won or the economy will tank.

Let's hope it's a transitory stage. the old way were the outside moral strictures of the church and rigid social strictures. That had it's own problems, certainly doesn't work in a global world. Just gotta hope that people find inner moral guidance instead, tho whether we're as a species is in doubt.

another big piece is the financial sector, and the behavior people have seen there. And how, especially the right, cowtows to that sector, keeps chipping away at Dodd Frank, winging about regulations. Hell we had your kind (Stratos) sneering at the idea of workplace safety regulation. People see how those thieves keep getting rewarded, realize the game is rigged and decide they might as well just focus on getting for themselves as much as they can. That's not a left wing phenomenon. They also see how the rich keep pushing for lower and lower taxes, keep taking a bigger and bigger piece of the pie. For some reason, our leaders now are all behind this, when at one time we had leaders who knew how to build a cohesive society.

Hope? Wishing people to have morals is a fool's game. You may as well wish people to know how to drive instead of teaching them how to do it.

One should make a better effort to not use the antics of methed-out mental cases from Florida as an excuse to condemn the entire human race. Stories like this are outliers, indicative only of the activities of broken-brained deviants and not of the population at large.

There's a much simpler and far less conspirstional answer than Barts. And it's the Internet.

It's not that people are any more or less evil than ever. It's just that we hear about so many more of them now. Fifty years ago you might have read about something like this in your local rag and that was as far as it ever went. Now with the Internet, horror stories like this go from one end of the world to the other.

A bunch of nonsense.

Sorry this is the end result of left-wing nanny state, everyone a winner and entitled to whatever they want, throw away society.

You should be proud of her. She got rid of an inconvenience that was slowing her down.
