And the first place prize goes to Lemmy for bringing this up a couple of weeks ago.

Lemmy Lemmy:
Now that Sheldon Kennedy, Joe Sakic and Theo have all put their hockey careers behind them, maybe we'll finally get the whole, sad story on Graham James and the train wreck it made of two superb hockey players' lives.

Unfortunately, with the publication of these allegations, Graham James won't be able to be prosecuted on these charges, as he should.

He was already convicted and sent to prison for it.........although for not nearly enough time.
There are also others like team officials that should be dragged up on the carpet as well. I play hockey with a guy that played for James prior to Fleury and who's mentioned in the book written by a women a few years ago when this first broke. He said they were told by team officials to NEVER go anywhere with him alone, so this wasn't new nor unknown to others yet he was allowed to continue coaching. He said James was weird but because he was a winning coach people ignored it.

Excerpt from book

$1:
At 14, I figured I could get through it myself. I planned to wrap myself up in a blanket at bedtime again. I still had some fight left in me.

I was billeted with a woman named Mrs. Bennett, but Graham James insisted I sleep over at his house at least twice a week. The days I had to go over to Graham's filled me with dread. From the moment I woke up I would start making up excuses, which never worked. I could say, "My dad died." "So what? You're comin' over and you're not getting a paycheque if you don't." I couldn't rub two nickels together. And I couldn't ask my parents for money, because they had none. I relied on Graham for everything. And that's the way he wanted it.

He'd wait until the middle of the night. He had the blinds duct-taped to the windows so no light could get in. He would start massaging my feet and I wouldn't move, pretending to be asleep. He would try to come up higher, but with that blanket wrapped so tight, he couldn't get at me....

Yeah but not for his abuse of Theo, did the identity of the unnamed player ever come out after the Kennedy trial. Sheldon thinks there should be more charges now.

I just read an interview with SK. RCMP, in the e-Edition of the Ed Sun. Police will not lay charges based on the allegations in the book. They will look into it if Fleury makes a complaint. So it seems the possibility is still there.

...and we still haven't heard what Joe Sakic has to add to the story.

I really want to read this book as it is showing how rampant this once in years past.

Of course they won't lay charges based on a book.

If he wants him to be prosecuted, he has to file a formal complaint, like we all have to do if we want that to happen. And then you have to prove it...
