HST may be good for the provincial/ federal coffers but is horrible for the consumer. There are many items that only get charged one or the other now they will all be charged both.

Yes I support the CPC but no I do not like this, but apparently that wont make a difference because the LPC supports the HST also.

It's good for one major reason, it eliminates a lot of Bureaucracy. It is much more efficient.

Does anyone have a link to this report? I can't find it and I'm curious how they determined that harmonization would increase inflation.

On Wednesday, Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty called on federal Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff to clarify his position on what Ignatieff has publicly called the "Harper Sales Tax."
McGuinty said on Tuesday that Ignatieff had agreed to support the blended sales tax should he become prime minister, then, after pressure from Ignatieff's office, McGuinty said there was "no formal agreement."
When asked to clarify his position Friday on the harmonized sales tax and whether he was contradicting McGuinty, Ignatieff in Ottawa said "No, we're not."

So it's bad if it comes from the other guys but it's good if it comes from us.
The Toronto party gets caught up in their own spin again.

It's not if he supports it or if he dosen't but it's clear that he's trying to do both here.

Just as in the toronto gun thread its perfectly on-topic to compare shootings and the failure of not controlling guns which YOU DID report.

Turnabout is fair play especially when the mods told me to specifically report you if you went off topic on a Lib bashing tangent during a thread about the cons (as you do so often)

This thread is about Harper's governments support of the HST not the Libs. That is being covered in another thread but you want to be sure that any complaint against the cons gets turned around to the Libs.

Its also clear that even though Harper has been saying "no taxes to eliminate the deficit" you guys suddenly jumped all over Iggy when he said it. No contradiction there eh.
