Why are the US players complaining about this? Just pay off the incompetent and corrupt Euro-referees like they did the last time and things should work out in their favour again.

Good luck!
Until the women's tourney can draw the demand the men's tourney does, they have no clout to enforce stadium changes.
Host countries will just tell them to take a hike...or not even bother bidding to host.
That may not be fair, but I would rather play on turf than not play at all.
All that being said, even with the turf, BC Place has a 2 star rating, which is 'technically' all that is required to host any FIFA event, outside of the men's WC finals.

What I don't get is why they are playing the games in Montreal at the Olympic Stadium instead of at Saputo? Saputo has 20K seating capacity and natural grass.

Turf sucks. But what are you going to do? It's just not a big enough game in Canada right now to merit grass. Maybe it's a North American thing too--lots of pro teams play on turf in football, soccer and baseball.
I think these women start beliving their own press releases sometimes. Interest in women's team sports is probably about 5% of the interest that it is for men's sports.

QBall QBall: What I don't get is why they are playing the games in Montreal at the Olympic Stadium instead of at Saputo? Saputo doesn't meet capacity (30,000 min), security, or media requirements (625 sq m(min) between dressing room and pitch).

Zipperfish Zipperfish: You know a lot about soccer! It was the only sport my parents could afford...and, I kind of fell in love with it, once I started playing. But....shhhhh, admitting that you love soccer can get you lynched around here...

$1: Hampton Dellinger, a lawyer with Boies Schiller based in Washington, who is spearheading the legal effort along with Tristram Mallett, a Calgary partner with Osler, says putting the women’s tournament on fake turf is against Canadian law: “The bottom line is, it’s not the same [as the men’s playing surface], it’s not right and it’s not legal.” Actually, the bottom line is Canada isn't willing to pay millions of dollars to rip out our turf (then millions more to replace it) for a couple weeks of soccer. The gender of the players has nothing to do with it. If they don't like it, then either don't play or petition to have someone else host it instead.

And I'm not even sure replacement is an option for, say, BC Place. They use that place for a lot of different kinds of venues--can you just rip up a sod field the way you can rip up turf?

Volunteered to coach my son when he was five and here I am six years later coaching his team and my daughter's and playing once or tweice a week.

2Cdo 2Cdo: Has your diving improved? Exponentially! Didn't you see the video of me in the Commonwealth games thread? Before soccer, I could barely manage a belly flop...now, I can simulate being gunned down by the mob, old school style, drive by with tommy guns and everything!
