That's because it's cheaper than to actually follow through on your campaign promises to replace them. Every month the government dithers on this, the more it will cost. Order the JSS already!

Actually, I prefer the made in Canada solution, especially now with our economy slipping into a potential recession. A couple thousand jobs for several years wouldn't be so bad, even if it means we pay a little more.

It will be a shame to see them go, when they go. I sailed on both of them and I have to say, it is pretty fun to sail on a supply ship. To be going 18 knots with a CPF on both sides of you getting fuel and supplies, it is a pretty cool feeling. You get to go into Ports more often to, to resupply for all the other ships.....
They will be sadly missed by the Navy and we do need new Supply ships. I hope the Con's get their respective "Heads out of the A$$" and spends some money for new ships our Navy desperately needs...
