Like Dan said in another thread, Civil political discourse is dead in the US. Free speech is a right, unless it's speech you don't like. Nothing says ESPN has to play Hank Williams songs, but lets' also recall the Dixie Chicks album burning parties for saying the same sort of thing WRT President Bush.

I'm more annoyed that it took ABC/ESPN almost 15 years to notice that Hank Jr. is a stupid ignorant asshole.

PS: Needs MOAR Hitler!

My favorite part was when Hank compared Obama and Biden to the Three Stooges, without saying who the third stooge was.

And on a side note.

$1:
Hank Williams Jr.'s son -- Hank Williams III -- doesn't think his father should have opened his mouth about Obama yesterday ... telling TMZ most musicians are "not worthy" of a political discussion.

He should expand that to include all the Actors, Atheletes and D rated celebrities who seriously think that their opinions matters and we plebians should be listening to them.

And yet we here seem to have no shame in spouting our opinions. Are we really more worthy than the people you describe above?

Why yes, yes I am

Seriously though, blame the media, not the speaker. It's the media that seem to think the opinions of the aforementioned people have more merit than the average Joe.

Yes.

Despite our political and moral differences I really don't expect you to change your views to suit mine just because I'm able to use a medium that is unavailable to other people.

I guess when you become famous you become more intelligent, morally and socially concious than the rest of the planet and have an obligation to ensure the masses get your special message.

The one thing these asshats forget is that the medium is the message, not them.
