Buying the Leo 2's, C-17's, went very well. Maybe we should purchase more equipment that way, as opposed to the way this Cyclone deal was done.

I was about to say...

Ironically another conservative purchase too. They got us some awesome kit (just not enough of what they did buy IMO), but should this turn out to be a lemon it could sour their reputation.

Procurement is just too political. We need to take the politics out of buying kit, Quebec.

Yea, 500 K at 1994 prices for no choppers is shamwow funny as our guys get killed by IED's instead of flying in choppers.

Choose you thread better for silly comments.

Oldchum, we don't have the capacity to build a chopper unless it's under licence. The Italians are quite the chopper-power. They build good aircraft.

Hey, we need to specialise. Like Italy. Pick an industry and excel in it. Canada-arm ring a bell?
Bombardier build good aircraft, we just need to focus on a specific niche consumer. We can’t be like the Yanks but Canadians produce good shit. That’s why we have a huge trade with the Yanks.

There is room for Canadian expertise in a specific industry.

Yes but if we took the time to do more for ourselves and export maybe more of our engineers could work here . Just a thought to contemplate
