The top U.N. official in Afghanistan on Sunday acknowledged "widespread fraud" in the disputed presidential election and rejected allegations from a former deputy that he covered up cheating to smooth the path to victory for President Hamid Karzai.
All the troops in the world will mean nowt if it is believed that Karai and his government are riddled with corruption. Public support will evaporate forcing an end to the war.

Growing pains of a democracy. While their is corruption, the outside forces against a democratic Afghanistan only need to keep beating this drum to further their message.
